We are a group of parents who have a family member diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder plus a couple of reps from agencies who are trying to make a difference for our kids with autism and help the community understand autism.
History
In 1999 a group of parents and professionals, recognising a growing need for education and awareness in autism spectrum disorder, got together for form the Ballarat Autism Network. Its main function has always been to connect the autism community, educate and raise awareness. It offers support, advocacy and information. We have nearly 200 families from Ballarat and surrounding regions on our mail list - it's a continualy growing community.
